My story begins years ago when I experienced studying art in Florence, Italy. It was the summer of 1997, with a program called SACI through Bowling Green State University. I fell in love with the architecture and the beautiful stained glass art. That following fall upon returning from Italy, I took a stained glass class at BGSU and loved it!!! I graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1998 with a Bachelors in Fine Arts with a concentration in drawing and printmaking.

By 2007, I was being commissioned to create custom stained glass artwork for numerous commercial and private requests. In addition to my first love of stained glass, I now also create mosaics. It all began when I wanted to find a way to use the spare stained glass that I had on hand after making a panel.

Bianca Sage Gery

of B. Sage Studios

Born in 1990 in Indiana, Bianca Sage Gery is a mixed media artist currently living in Lancaster, OH with her husband and two cats. She graduated from Ohio University in 2014 with a B.A. of Studio Art and a certificate of Women’s and Gender Studies. Gery developed a passion for the arts at an early age, often times creating small sculptures from found objects, sewing dresses for her dolls, or painting bright and colorful pictures for her family. Her later work has not strayed from these ideas, and has been developed into a variety of series ranging from abstract watercolor paintings to wall sculptures made from acrylic and canvas to wearable body sculptures inspired by avant-garde fashion and recycled sweaters. Many themes throughout her work include metamorphosis, urban man-made vs. natural landscapes, and current fashion trends. Gery often refers back to the art making she did as a child and uses those intuitions and sense of wonder to develop her bodies of artwork. Gery’s recent solo exhibitions have included Down the Rabbit Hole (2014), Currents (2014), and Moments (2016).
In 2015, Gery launched her own jewelry line based off her artwork called, B. Sage Studios. The company has grown into other accessories and home goods. B. Sage Studios will be launching it’s first store late 2016.
